It comes with treble, bass and echo controls for the microphone.
What we don’t like is the bulky size. The EQ on JBL Partybox 310 could have been even more comprehensive. Apart from these, this is one party speaker that doesn’t have much of a pain point.
We have gone through multiple sittings and tested various sounds on this speaker to come up with a detailed JBL Partybox 310 review.
JBL Partybox 310 Review
Design and Build
The PartyBox 310 is essentially largely built. It is constructed from plastic. The speaker’s body has two circular Red, Green, Blue lights that are customisable to various colors via the companion app or the light button on the speaker. There is a black metal grille that covers and protects the drivers.
There is no right way up!
The speaker is designed to be used vertically or horizontally due to the small rubber caps on the sides. JBL has followed the earlier design pattern with a bevelled rectangular case convenient for the front tweeters. The control panel is assigned to the top of the speaker. It has a very practical horizontal placement. The position of the tweeters projects sounds uniform.
Heavy, in sound and weight.
Weighing at around 40 pounds, this speaker is not so easy to carry. JBL knew this and hence added two smooth wheels at the bottom of the speaker. To further ease up the movement, there is an extendable handle. The JBL PartyBox 310 has fantastic graphics that match the sound. The colored LED lights change and match the beat of the music being played. Finding commands is easy with dark control and a built-in backlight.
Intuitive Controls
The controls on this speaker are intuitive and satisfactory. There are dedicated buttons for play, pause, volume, bass boost, Bluetooth pairing and various sound effects. It also allows for bass, treble and mids modulation as well. The speaker has a groove on the top which holds the smartphone or tablet, while it also has a telescopic handle. The speaker has a battery life of 18 hours. The time taken to charge is about 5 hours.
Sound Quality
The JBL Party Box 310 has one of the best frequency response accuracies. When the Bass Boost is set to 1, the speaker has one of the most powerful and boom sounds in this range. The Bass Boost button enhances the overall audio response. The soundstage for this is extremely average, somewhat narrower and directional. It affects how the sound is heard from all angles.
Customisable EQ
This model by JBL comes with EQ settings that adjust and tweak the balance of music. The karaoke mode is where the microphone input is automatic; therefore, there is no static noise.
Along with other preset EQ options, one can manually edit the settings of low, echo, and high/medium output. This helps customise the EQ settings to your taste.
Installation and Operation
JBL Partybox 310 is not just a wire-free connective speaker but has many wired input connectivity. A 12V DC-In port that allows it to be connected to the car’s lighter port via an AUX-In, a Mic input can control the volume and the gain adjustment. There is a Guitar input as well. It has a USB port compatible with In and Outports.
The JBL PartyBox 310 has lag-free and drop-free Bluetooth connectivity. This allows for the connection of two devices at one time. The JBL Party Box 310 works well with the JBL PartyBox app. RGB lighting and pairing with another speaker for stereo pair and multiple linkages are possible through this app. The app also makes scope for DJ effects, customising the bass, treble, and echo features alongside the karaoke setting for voice and mic performance.
Battery that lasts long (really long)
The JBL PartyBox 310 has one of the most unparalleled battery backups. The 17 hours of continuous playback time with a single full charge of 3 hours is remarkable. The speaker also has a standby mode of 20 minutes, where when not in use, it saves battery.

Other Features
It is IPX4 rated waterproof speaker. However, the speaker cannot pair with google assistant, Alexa and Siri voice commands.
- The battery backup is class apart
- The bass and sound quality make it indeed boom box
- It is loud
- The EQ could be more comprehensive
To Conclude
With its loud, boomy profile, JBL Partybox 310 is suitable for playing music. This model plays good stereo content and doesn’t suffer from compression at very loud volumes. The speaker is also good at bringing out the intensity of sound in fast-moving, action-packed movies, but it isn’t very good at mono sounds.
Its mid-range and vocals are well balanced and highly portable. It is even suitable for making speeches and conducting seminars. The massive battery life and the IPX4 rating makes up for everything this lacks.
Overall, if you are looking for a party speaker that can play in the rain, sounds good, has a Bass boost and is portable, then this is the speaker you need to invest in.
